Chris Hill has advised us that certain event posts can be allowed if they meet the required critria: 1) They must comprise of all, or mostly, current Caister DJs. 2) They should generally not take place within 30 miles of a regular Caister night such as the Lacy Lady or Soul Heaven. 3) The event or the website advertising the event (if a website is mentioned in the post) much have a link to Caister or be promoting Caister (such as Soul Conexion) 4) The event, or the website advertisng the event must not promote an alternative weekender that takes place within 30 miles of Caister. Thanks Richard for your kind comments I do appreciate it. My father was one of lucky ones. He was diagnosed with colon cancer 20 years ago and survived. Others are not so lucky. There is either tragedy or hope that comes with this disease and that’s why I want to do my little bit to help. If you want to you can support this good cause by either attending or making a contribution. I have already had a gift donated by a high street coffee shop and two major record. I am organising a Charity Music Event in aid of Cancer Research on Tuesday 22nd May 2007 at the Barracuda Bar, 133 Houndsditch, London EC3. We all know somebody who has been affected by cancer. Recently a good friend of mine was diagnosed with the disease at a relatively young age. Inspired by her courage and positive attitude, in particular as she endured months of treatment, I wanted to do something to help. I got involved with an organisation linked to Cancer Research UK called the City of London Friends of Cancer Research UK volunteering both my time and assistance. As a result I wanted to put together an event that would encompass a whole evening of entertainment including song, dance, fun and prizes with the aim of raising money for a very worthwhile cause. The evening kicks-off with a quiz covering popular music through the decades (I would love it to have been a soul quiz but there will be one or two of our tunes in there). We will then see if there is talent out there by having a competition for anyone wanting to test their singing skills, all for charity of course, and we will then end with DJ’s spinning tunes into the late evening which Ginger Tony has kindly volunteered to assist - thanks mate. Entry is £30 for a team of six but I will accept five. All you need to do is to e-mail me to register first. You will then have 21 days to pay the fee to confirm your entry. If you are interested in attending I will provide further details including an entry form. This is an event not to be missed so come along for a real fun evening and the opportunity to make a positive contribution. I intend holding a raffle on the night. Why is some one so woried about numbers at Med Soul?.Myself and the djs will have a good time if their are 50 or 500 PUNTERS there, whats the problem.The best ever weekender i went to was FROSTIES Clacton doo, it was great and about 100 people there.This a 7day holiday in a 4*beach hotel for £175 plus flight £250 in total, with all the soul you can hack for free! if you think its a bad deal don't go.All the twats on here that run down events,whats the point,like all the shit soulville gets, i went last year it was a good weekend, so what harm was done to the soul scene by people having a good time,and Richard is one of the nicest guys i have ever met,unlike me i am a big mouthed arse hole and i am proud of it.I will do this event because i want to, ok and fuck the polictics and the litle people that don't like it.

Now call me naive but things like this were never mentioned to us at your big posh sods open day at the new bowl!! ........ Now I have been following the progress of Arsenal for 5 full years now and I am sure you will agree that my loyalty deserves an explanation as to why I now have to take my two sons - Cuffbert and Toby to games that are almost meaningless. ......... I expect a credit to my season card and also will not expect to pay for a single glass of Riocha in the toss pots lounges again this term. ........ I would also ask that you consider the position of the manager Mr Wenger. I am told that he used to win things and indeed when my die hard support begun the team had not been beaten in the whole of the season. Things have deterioated significantly since and I would ask that you consider the loyal fan when making your next appointment. I have heard that Portuguese fellow is a real good sport and hardly ever loses a game, why not take him?. ....... In closing I would like to remind you that people like me are the life blood of the modern Arsenal. I have seen these people from Tottenham with their songs and their travelling to away matches and I am sure you will agree that people like that are all that is wrong with the executive lounges up and down the country. carol-thank you for your comments about the alldayer, I do acknowledge your points about the main room being safe/un-challenging.It's about getting the balance right with our crowd which was is incredibly mixed it's unbelievable-we have complete self confessed anoraks right the way through to once a year attendees who love anthems all night long.This isn't a problem to us, in fact it's what makes it such a great vibe;along with the venue and great sound system. Your feedback and I'm sure the many others who agree with you will certainly be addressed next time; but at the same time we'd love everyone to attend and make it as much fun and accessible as possible. ChiSoul is about fun and friends, but you're right, we gotta keep our eye on the musical ball, especially me who was guilty as charged guv ! I had been there since 12 o'clock though !Many of the sets before mine and the club room did reflect a brilliant diversity however. The reason it was so dark was really a request from the d.j's themselves, and stevie cee did ask everyone at one point "lights on, or off ?", the latter was requested and we kept them off right through. Once again, thanks for all your comments and everyone elses on the site.

Enjoyed Chi-Soul some very good music played especially upstairs but did find the main roon especially last 4-5 hours very much like a typical Caister Lacy anthem party nothing wrong with those records but hearing aint no stopping us now running away fatback dominoes ect didnt float my boat not really music challenging would of liked to have heard old anthems that only get played from time to time or various versions of classis tunes, but buy that time of the evening we all dance to those tracks that bring back memories,could of done with a lot more modern anthems heard some classic jazz and house tracks played by Bob Jones,but why was the jazz room pitch black? overall a lovely day full of friendly people and made some new friends ,which cant me bad well done

I just wanted to say a huge thanks from Jamie & myself to all the wonderful people who made the trip down to the ChiSoul Alldayer yesterday. It was a sea of happy faces the whole day just dancing, drinking & having fun. The DJ's were all excellent, Bob Jones, Mark Webster & Stevie Cee amongst others. We'll be back over the August Bank Holiday weekend so hopefully we will welcome plenty of you back again. Bless ya.

Fantastic day at ChiSoul yesterday. Me and Alfie were saying how we'd looked forward to going for months and now it's all over. It's such a special event, brilliant music and people that it's quite hard to describe if you haven't been before although my friend Calogera, who came along for the the first time, did say "I'd give it 11 out of 10!" Maths never being one of her strong points. All praise to those loveable "Rogues in the Brogues" Paul & Jamie.

doing soulville at easter,we thought was a good idea at the time,but we did not count on so many other good gigs on at the same time,we at soulville do not want to be alsorans.To be honest the bookings were crap,so really this was the best option(not one we liked).If people had wanted it they would have booked,but the punters are always right and they vote with their feet,not our turn this time.We will be doing the sat night and sunday,because i,ve got my crowd here,and maybe the friday if frostie wants too.Many thanks for all the calls and surpport on our decision and we are sorry if this upsets anyones weekend at easter ,but we are here to help if we can.We will be doing events through the year and we are fully in with soul-village.

RIGHT GUYS AND GALS just to clarify the Soulville situation to stop the the rumours !!!!! After careful consideration we have decide that the weekend will not go ahead in its oroginal format as planned and yes due to the fact that we were asked to present it over the easter weekend without other people realising that there was so many other functions on that people are torn to go to . So we will only be going ahead with SOULVILLE ON THE SATURDAY!!!! AS you will appreciate the reason we had not announced the decision was because we wnated to communicate fully with the DJS first !!! So as you can see someone has jumped the gun before us which is a shame as we still had people to talk to . Whilst some may think this is a cop out we feel we are being realistic and pride ourselves on the fact that we are not afraid to be honest with peole . We can confirm that SOULVILLE will be joining SOULVILLAGE in July and will presenting a mystery tour night later in the summer . we must stress that SOULVILLE will stuill be taking place on the easter saturday and the DJ line up will be announced later today with the venue details and other arrangements . We must apologise to those in advance that we have not yet managed to speak to, but rumours have to be put to bed !! We can guarentee that the saturday evening has a very good line up and will be a great sucess . Hope this clarifies it all and sure the bitching will begin .....THANKYOU
